Two Key Methods from HEF Group<\/h2>\n
\n

HEF Group uses two key methods to quantify its environmental impacts and reinforce its commitment to sustainable development:<\/p>\n

Carbon footprint<\/strong>
\nThe Group is carrying out a worldwide carbon footprint, covering all its industrial plants. This analysis is currently being rolled out and is based on three scopes (direct emissions, energy-related indirect emissions and other indirect emissions). Results for scopes 1 and 2 are expected by the end of March 2025. This initiative is in line with the Group’s decarbonization strategy and meets our customers’ growing expectations for more sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)<\/strong>
\nLife Cycle Assessment is a methodology which evaluates the environmental impacts of a product or process throughout its life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to waste management. This methodology measures fifteen environmental indicators, including carbon footprint, depletion of fossil resources and water use.<\/p>\n

As part of our eco-design approach, LCA is a key tool for identifying levers for improvement and reducing environmental impacts. A recent example is the comparative study on liquid nitriding, carried out with and without Greencenter technology. The results of this analysis, currently undergoing critical review by a third party, should be available mid to late 2025.<\/p>\n

These initiatives contribute to the reduction of environmental impacts and the transition to more sustainable processes within the HEF Group, while fostering innovation and resource efficiency. They are part of a comprehensive approach to continuous improvement aimed at ensuring the longevity of our technologies.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
