Depending on the medium used, the process would be different, as synthesized in the following table: <\/p>\n<p>Their respective processing methods \u2013 being quite different \u2013 are responsible for the unique effects each have on treated part.<br \/>\nThe temperature homogeneity control is quite different between gas nitriding and CLIN\u2122 technologies. This is due to the difference of medium, rather than gas, CLIN\u2122 is based on liquid medium (molten salts). Liquid allows a better control of temperature homogeneity compared to gas. Also, liquid enable complex geometry treatment, as it spreads uniformly everywhere in the bath. <\/p>\n<p><span data-teams=\"true\">This allows to have a better treatment homogeneity of the parts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Parts are in direct contact with liquid and therefore use conduction for heat transfer. Gas uses convection which is not as efficient.<br \/>\nThis efficiency is also bond with nitriding potential, directly linked to the chemical composition of the medium. Contrary to gas using Ammonia (NH3), CLIN\u2122 technologies use cyanates (CNO\u2013). These chemical compounds are more effective to create nitriding reactions, allowing fastest treatment times.   <\/p>\n<p>Thus, the liquid medium of CLIN\u2122 offers the fastest and most uniform post-nitriding enhanced oxidizing step.<\/li>\n<li>Better oil retention.<\/li>\n<li>Enhanced corrosion resistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Limitations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Masking is most of
