A local and long-term anchor of the HEF Group in the St-Etienne region
This acquisition enables HEF to effectively carry out its u003cstrongu003eresearch in hydrogen technology,u003c/strongu003e particularly in the area of u003cstrongu003ecoating bipolar platesu003c/strongu003e (components of the hydrogen fuel cell stacks). An innovation that enables HEF to u003cstrongu003ereduce the actual cost by 50%u003c/strongu003e, and thus make hydrogen mobility accessible to many, many, more people.rnrnIn the first phase, these coatings will equip the fuel cell stacks that provide decarbonized energy for u003cstrongu003ecommercial vehiclesu003c/strongu003e; in the second phase for u003cstrongu003etrainsu003c/strongu003e, and mass-transit u003cstrongu003evehiclesu003c/strongu003e.rnrnThis launch was made possible thanks to the u003cstrongu003esupport of the City of Saint-Etienne and of the French government via France 2030u003c/strongu003e, investment aid in the amount of €7 million for €40 million invested.rnrnThe purpose of the plant is to u003cstrongu003epower the European continentu003c/strongu003e since these bipolar plates will be sold primarily in the European markets (France and Germany) before u003cstrongu003efuture deployment of other plants in the US, China, Japan, and South Korea.u003c/strongu003ernrnu003cstrongu003eThe objective is to create an industrial showcase with annual turnover between €30 and €40 million in the 2028-2030 horizon and to generate one hundred jobs.u003c/strongu003e
