Tomorrow’s Factory

On September 26, 2024 HEF was present at the 5th edition of Demain l’Usine at the Région du numérique campus in Lyon.
Our experts were on hand to present our connected ring and how we developed this contactless predictive maintenance solution.
The connected ring project began 5 years ago with the collaboration of Grenoble’s CEA, with the aim of developing a range of components with an innovative, differentiating product that meets customers’ economic challenges. As we all know, a ring wears out and has to be replaced during maintenance. In some sectors, replacing a bushing can take several hours or even days if maintenance is not scheduled and the machine is located in a remote area. It is therefore essential for customers to switch to predictable maintenance. The ring will enable this changeover, by transmitting information on the ring’s condition while the machine is running, and without dismantling it. As a result, the customer will be able to plan only the maintenance that is necessary and reliable.
This product could later be used to gather other information, such as temperature, vibration and other data, which could bring HEF into the world of AI.
