The glass industry includes the production of various types of glass for a variety of applications such as visors, displays, bottles, and construction materials.
The “GLACIER” project supported by HEF, a complete, versatile laser process cutting glass with laser cutters. It is designed on the basis of femtosecond laser beams and enables:
- the shaping of treated glass, with a thickness up to 30 µm for all 2D shapes; and
- selective removal of thin layers on the glass substrate, with a thickness between 0.1 and 20 µm.
HEF also offers MOAP™ surface treatment specifically for glassware parts primarily for gob transfer, which enables optimal shaping. MOAP™ is a slide coating based on graphite with a metallic binding agent, designed for high-temperature applications. It significantly improves the slide of the gob with perfect temporal regularity and provides excellent wear resistance. Thanks to this treatment, tools can be used repetitively, with a treatment service life extending from 3 to 6 months minimum depending on the production rate.
Finally, in its range of coatings using PVD/PECVD technology, HEF offers its CERTESS® OPTAL surface treatment. OPTAL stacks are a product range of thin layers used for optical coatings, such as reflectors and anti-reflective and anti-scratch solutions. These stacks are characterized by a great diversity of materials that can be used in deposition processes, particularly chrome, aluminum, gold, and specific alloys. They guarantee a very high purity of the coatings, control of the thicknesses and the conditions of the surface, as well as resistance to aggressive chemicals.
